Role Description
TheAssociate Director of Regional Marketing/Regional Marketing Leader (RML)is the lead commercial person responsible for engaging a core group of National,Regionaland CommunityExternal Scientific Experts(ESE’s)– leaders in their field ofHematologyThe RMLwillbe responsible fordeveloping and implementing Regional Marketing Plansthat align with the strategic imperatives of the brand strategyto influence and shape commercial successat local levels.  

This position will report into theHead of Regional Marketing for the US Hematology Franchiseand will work in close partnership withcross functional teams including brand marketing, field sales, medical, market access, national accounts, and other functions to ensurethe franchise has amarket leadership presence with key customers and thought leaders.This position is field based,collaborating withtheHematologyOncology teams inFL, GA, AL, TN, KY

KeyAccountabilities

  • Strategic Regional Marketing:Develop, design, and implementa Regional Marketing Action Plan (RMAP) that aligns with brand strategic imperatives and is focused on achieving commercialobjectives, generating insights, and building advocacy from key external thought leaders.

  • ESE Customer Engagement:Identifyand effectively engage a core group of 35-50 National, Regional, and CommunityESEs,utilizingadvanced scientific, communication and business skills thatbuildadvocacy of the brand.Support brand and globalteamon projects that require US ESE engagement, guidance, and/or involvement.

  • Insights Generation:Generatetimelyand actionable customer insights that informbrand strategy,decision-making,and other important marketinginitiatives.Escalate market challenges/barriers to leadershipas cross-functional partners asappropriate.

  • Business Ethics and Acumen:Compliantly managemultiple program budgets, timelines, processes, and procedureswhile adhering to required policies andtrainings/certifications.

  • Internal Collaboration:Collaborate with field sales leadership, account directors,andother brandpartnersto develop and executelocalregional strategies and tactics based ongeographicalmarketneeds andopportunities.

Key Competencies,Skill Sets,and Preferred Requirements

  • Engagement and influence with National/Regional ESEs:Demonstratehighly developed interpersonal communication and interaction skills and apply them in engagements with ESEs, ask toughquestionsand build strategic advocacy. 

  • Oncology Business Acumenand a comprehensive understanding of the delivery of oncology care, including the role of large Payers, GPOs, cancer care delivery in different practice settings, precision medicine, and organized oncology customers. 

  • Marketing Acumenexperience and capability working with agency/vendor partners on complex projectsAn ability toidentifyregional marketingtactics, and then project manage and implement regional marketing initiatives.  

  • Cross-functional collaborationwith customer facing field teams across sales, market access, medical, and home office teams across brand marketing, key customer engagement, global, etc. 

  • Project managementto plan/execute AdvisoryBoards,regionalmarketingtactics, taking assets through the MLR process, operationalplan& budgetmanagement.

  • Execution:Demonstratedability to develop and execute regional marketing initiatives that deliver against brand strategic imperatives.

  • Strategic Thinking:Generate strategic insights to inform brand strategic decision-making.

MinimumRequirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree;preferably in a relevant field

  • At least 8yearsofexperience in pharma and/or healthcare industry with experience in one or more of the following: managed markets, brand marketing, sales, strategic planning

  • Oncologytherapy area experience

  • Expected50-70% overnight travel including evening and weekend conferences when necessary


Preferred Requirements:

  • 10+ years of pharma or healthcare industry experience with 2+ years of Oncologyexperience

  • Experience in Hematology, withpreferred experience inCLL,NHL,bi-specifics,and cellular therapy givenAZ’sgrowing portfolio.

  • Prior in-line marketing experience or Marketing Agency experience (HCP marketing)

  • Experience working with third party vendors and agency partners

  • MBA in relevant field

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $180,800- $271,300. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
